Dear Future Husband,
Where our focus goes, energy flows.

Unedited, unscripted, and with gunk in my eyes, good morning!
I look forward to our nights together-
our time together-waking up together. I look forward to our
friendship and inseparable bond we will undoubtedly share. I look
forward to the smiles and laughter and stories we will share.
I look forward to you holding me and
wiping the tears that fall. This world can be so cruel at times-
knowing that you are by my side makes me feel good.
I look forward to wiping the tears from
your eyes too. Running your bath water- scrubbing your back- laying
your clothes out- doing laundry- cooking dinner- and all that other
domestic shit.
I look forward to our prayer time-
listening to the sounds of your heart beat- knowing that you care for
others.
I look forward to hearing about your
plans to build our community and the work that makes you glad to be
alive. I look forward to helping you make your dreams come true.
I look forward to you hearing about my
crazy ideas and hearing you say, “go for it!” I look forward to
you asking me, “is there anything that I can do- what do you need
me to do- how can I help?”
I look forward to you calling me “bae,
babe, Queen, the love of my life, and my future wife”. I look
forward to hearing you say, “I love you” looking into your eyes
and knowing that you mean it! Knowing that you know that God sent me
to your way and your prayer was answered.
Dear future husband, I look forward to
smelling you and holding you and for giving you parts of my self that
I didn't even know were there. I look forward to witnessing our fall
together in love- with love- and for the times that you carry me and
for the times I carry you.
I look forward to our first argument
and seeing how we come back together. I know that everyday won't be
peaches and cream but I'm ok with that! I look forward to us working
it out- working on us- and building a relationship that we can be
proud of.
I look forward to holding hands and
kisses in public. Let us show the world what love looks like. I look
forward to seeing my children see me happy- to see the eyes of yours
as they know that you have found the peace that you've been looking
for. I look forward to the times that our families come together and
the life that fills our home.

I look forward to the day when I can
say, “Thank you God” for I know why it didn't work out with the
ones before.
As I write this letter today, I am
filled with tears of gratitude knowing that you exist in the world
and one day we shall meet. I can feel you getting closer. It's
almost as if you are here calling my name.

on you. Don't give up until you find me. Don't let me go when you
